Valentine’s Day... some thoughts and considerations

Valentine’s Day has come to represent a lot of different things. Some believe that it represents the mutual affection between couples, while others focus on the holiday as a convenient excuse to eat chocolate. Regardless of how you go about celebrating Valentines Day, it is important to acknowledge those individuals in your life whom you care about and that have helped you to become who you are today.

Healthy relationships start by first embracing all of the great things about yourself and being able to accurately convey them to others. Valentine’s Day presents a great opportunity for self-discovery and appreciation. Even though Valentine’s Day takes place on a Tuesday, there are many things that you can do to treat yourself and those you love. Why not take a walk down M street or ride the GUTS bus to one of the many restaurants at Dupont? You could also catch a movie or simply watch the sunset. We often miss a lot of beauty in our world because we are too focused on “the next thing.” Take a moment to relax and reflect this Valentine’s Day.
