Educational Resources

Hennaed hands on the Outreach trip to Morocco

In addition to the materials distributed at workshops and seminars, the outreach program develops curriculum aids and background materials to assist K-12 teachers in introducing information about Arab history and culture.

Background Modules

These are short background pieces that offer information about a particular topic in a clear format. They include discussion questions and suggestions of print, audio-visual, and electronic references and resources.

Teaching Units

Geared for the teachers, these units feature activities for student or classroom work based on a book, novel, or a specific unit of study. They are meant to guide the teacher in presenting information and encouraging critical thinking.

Links for Educators

This is a selection of Middle East-related web sites that provide information and diverse points of view. New links are added throughout the year. They are grouped under broad themes and include a category for teaching resources and professional development.

Resources from Past Workshops and Seminars

The outreach program often develops resources for workshops and seminars that it sponsors. These include topic-specific bibliographies, lesson plans, and lists of web links and films.
