Students and faculty from Lombardi presented more than 25 abstracts and posters at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

The AACR Annual Meeting is the premier scientific meeting for cancer researchers, with more than 17,000 attendees from 89 countries. Held in Denver, CO on April 12-22, this meeting marks the centennial of the organization's Annual Meetings.

Lombardi's presence at the meeting started with the Opening Ceremony, where Lucile Adams-Campbell, PhD, Rebecca Riggins, PhD, and Anatasha Crawford were featured in the opening video titled, "100 Years of Science, Synergy, and Success."

Peter Shields, MD, Lombardi's deputy director, was selected to moderate a press conference on "Cancer Prevention: Diet, Lifestyle and Beyond."

Two posters presented by Lombardi researchers, Zhangzhi Hu, PhD, and Ramona Dumitrescu, PhD, received top honors as "highly-rated" abstracts.
