Catherine Broome, MD, joined Lombardi in July 2008 as an assistant professor of medicine and attending physicians in the adult hematology/on-cology clinic. Dr. Broome obtained her medical degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and completed her residency at the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center in Greenville, SC. Dr. Broome also completed fellowships in bone marrow transplantation and hematology/oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and George Washington University, respectively. She comes most recently from eleven years in private practice in northern Virginia. Prior to that, she served on the faculty at George Washington University and as the director of their fellowship program. At Lombardi, Dr. Broome will see patients with benign hematologic diseases, and will work with the high-risk obstetrics clinic to establish a joint clinic for patients with hematology concerns.
