St. Baldrick’s Day Participants Brave the Shave to Support Georgetown Lombardi

March 28, 2012

On Friday, March 9, 2012, a cadre of Georgetown University medical school students teamed up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Georgetown University’s St. Baldrick’s Day event, which took place in the Leavey Center’s Sellinger Lounge. This year’s St. Baldrick’s Day event had nearly 43 participants who helped raise money for pediatric cancer research by shaving their heads. The fundraising event largely supports the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. However, the Georgetown University medical students also arranged a bake sale, food truck event, silent auction, and powder puff soccer game, which helped raise over $3,000 for Aziza Shad MD’s pediatric survivorship program at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
